Erik Gross

Erik Gross serves as a Consultant at The Kitzenberg Group, where he partners with nonprofit leaders to strengthen institutional fundraising strategies and build sustainable funding relationships.

Erik brings extensive experience spanning foundation relations, program development, and organizational strategy. He currently serves as Senior Manager, Foundation Relations & Grants at PEN America, where he manages relationships with institutional funders supporting the organization's work defending free expression and literary freedom. His career includes roles at the Aspen Institute, Open to Debate, and the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, where he developed expertise across development operations, program management, and strategic communications.

Throughout his career, Erik has focused on organizations working at the intersection of democracy, civil liberties, and education—experience that gives him insight into mission-driven work that balances advocacy impact with institutional sustainability.

At The Kitzenberg Group, Erik brings the perspective of someone who has operated across multiple nonprofit functions. He understands how development strategy intersects with program delivery, board governance, and organizational capacity—allowing him to help clients build advancement systems that work within their operational realities.

Erik earned his B.A. in Economics and History from Kenyon College and resides in Brooklyn, NY.
